Home - made Udupi Rasam Powder, prepared with good quality Karavali (coastal Karnataka) organic spices. Used in preparation of Udupi Rasam – well known for its simplicity, flavor and taste. Enriched with protein of Toor dal, Udupi Rasam makes for an excellent serving for lunch/dinner.
To prepare an awesome bowl of Udupi Rasam:
1. Cook 50g of Toor dal in half liter water along with half teaspoon of Turmeric Powder. After dal gets fully cooked, add tamarind juice to water and boil it thoroughly with jaggery and salt to taste. Add Sanchya Udupi Rasam powder and heat for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
2. To add Tadka (Optional): Heat 2 teaspoon of oil, and to it add 1 red chilli, 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek, half teaspoon mustard, curry leaves, and a pinch of asafetida (hing). Add tadka to the preparation and stir well.
