Homemade Rasam Powder, prepared with good quality Karavali (coastal Karnataka) organic spices. Used in preparation of Rasam – a tangy spiced soup like healthy drink from the South Indian cuisine - rich in protein, minerals and vitamins.
To prepare an awesome bowl of Rasam:
1. Cook 50g of Tur dal in half liter water along with half teaspoon of Turmeric Powder. After dal gets fully cooked, remove the mixture from the flame.
2. In a separate vessel, boil tomato pieces (optionally, with a few peels of garlic), salt to taste & 2 teaspoon of Sanchya Rasam Masala Powder for 30 min. Add cooked dal to the mixture. Keep on flame for 5 min.
3. To add Tadka: Heat 2 teaspoon oil and add 1 red chili, half teaspoon mustard seed, along with a pinch of asafetida (hing). Add tadka to rasam mixture, with coriander leaves (optional). Serve hot.
